Key Features

  • RF-Mount Lens/Full-Frame Format
  • Fluorite and Super UD Elements
  • Air Sphere and Super Spectra Coatings
  • Ring-Type USM AF System
  • Optical Image Stabilizer
  • Focus Range Limiter, Two Focus Presets

The lens offers photographers two large-diameter Fluorite elements, one Super UD (Ultra-low Dispersion) and one UD-glass element, and Air Sphere Coating to ensure outstanding correction of colour fringing, and superb contrast and sharpness.

Other features include Optical Image Stabilization of up to 4.5 stops of shake correction to ensure consistently sharp results, a minimum focusing distance of 2.6m, a 9-blade circular aperture for beautiful, soft backgrounds, and a durable L-series construction built to be dust- and water-resistant.

Impressively Lightweight at 3.1kg, While Retaining High Levels of Image Quality

The Canon RF 800mm f/5.6 L IS USM Lens features a lightweight of only 3.1kg for a Telephoto fixed focal length lens and regardless of size, the lens still maintains incredibly high image quality that’s expected from a Canon L-series lens.

This allows for subjects and situations where Telephoto power and portability are vital.

Minimum Focusing Distance of 2.6m

With a Minimum Focusing Distance of 2.6m, the Canon RF 800mm f/5.6 L IS USM lens ensures that you get really close-up on your subjects. Being so close-up, you’ll be able to fill the frame with a subject roughly the size of a sparrow, and the maximum close-up magnification is 0.34x which is more than 1/3 life-size.

Optical Image Stabilization with up to 4.5 Stops of Shake Correction

With Optical Image Stabilization of up to 4.5 Stops on the Canon RF 800mm f/5.6 L IS USM Lens, the lens will ensure that it delivers consistently sharp results.

Having this is ideal for when shooting hand-held or mounted on a monopod, the lens Image Stabilization can deliver clear image detail in low-light situations or at lower ISOs while capturing both stills and video.

Compatible with Canon RF1.4x and 2x Extenders

The RF 800mm f/5.6 Lens from Canon is compatible with both RF 1.4x and 2x Extenders, allowing you to get in even closer on distant subjects. Expand effective Telephoto power to 1120mm at f/8 on the RF1.4x, or to an even further reach of 1600mm at f/11 when using the RF2x Extender.

Customizable Electronic Focus Ring, with Manual Focus Capability during SERVO AF

The lens is equipped with a large Manual Focus Ring that’s located directly on the lens barrel and allows you to select from three different Manual Focus speed levels, to adjust the Focus Ring rotation to your desired preference.

These settings help you to either slow speed to switch between someone’s eyes in a distant profile, or a fast speed to dial in on different birds in a large, swiftly moving flock.

Two Focus Presets Available – Instantly Return to One or Two Memorized Focus Distances

The Two Focus Presets provides on the RF 800mm lens allow wildlife photographers to pre-focus on two different spots where you’d expect wildlife to appear, and immediately jump to either Memorized position via the playback Ring.
