The DMW-MS2 Stereo Shotgun Microphone for DMC-GH3 is a dual Super Directional and Stereo Microphone designed to fit the DMC-GH3 mirrorless camera.
It enables high-quality audio recording; in shotgun directional mode it will shut out background noise and record audio from one direction, in stereo mode it records over a wide area.
The microphone features the built-in 3.5mm jack cable, a mic holder, cable holder, lock ring, tripod/hot shoe mount, mini plug 6.5′ (2 m) cable extender, windjammer and case. The holder is designed with a vibrational absorption mechanism and is designed to suppress the camera’s motor and handling noise to capture the sound you want. The unit is powered by the camera and its stereo or shotgun modes can be controlled via the camera’s menu.
The windjammer can be fitted to the MS2 to minimize unwanted wind noise, you can further reduce noise by selecting Wind Cut on the GH3. Mount the microphone either on top of the camera with the supplied hot shoe or use the extension cable and mount it to a tripod of its own.
